Building a new Kossel Mini, this will be my third printer.  I am building this one for two reasons, first I want the height provided by the Kossel Mini (240mm), and second I want to see how a delta printer preforms.  I am also interested in features like using a bowden extruder and the auto z feature.

I plane to add new features to my including a custom hot end, a headed bed, and a lcd control screen.  I have been using ramps so i will continue to do so on this build; I have not decided if I will mount up top or on the side.   I definitely will not mount on the bottom between the motors, I know how hot those motors can get and do not need them

Printed parts

My print settings:

  • Layer height = 0.25
  • Perimeters = 3
  • Top/bottom solid layers = 3
  • Infill density = 90%

Printed all Part in PLA except End Effector and extruder fan which was printed in ABS (higher heat tolerances)

Frame

  • 3x 600mm vertical Misumi HFS3-1515
  • 9x 240mm horizontal Misumi HFS3-1515
  • Heat bed – ???

Linear motion

Diagonal push rods

  • 12x Traxxas 5347 rod ends
  • 12x M4x20mm set screws
  • 6x 180mm Carbon tube ID=4mm

Bowden

  • 1x Clear PFA tubing ID=2mm OD=4mm
  • 2x Push fit connector ID=4mm with M5 thread

Motor

  • 1x NEMA-17 motor with an integrated Planetary gearbox with a 5 2/11 :1 ratio.
  • 1x Spur Gear, 22 Tooth, 12mm od, 8mm id – #S10T05M022S0508 from http://www.aliexpress.com/

Endstops

  • 3x micro switches

Electronics

  • 1x  RAMPS_1.4
  • 1x 12V 20A power supply – large enough for heated bed

Auto Z-Probe

Having issues with the length of this and the length of the hex allen wrench – saw a suggestion to use brazing rod (may need to drill out hole but can then make it any length and because it is round it turns nicely.
